So undoubtedly this will be a long, drawn out series, have many UNEXPECTED parts and anything else that goes into a “remodel” because if you had not heard yet, WE BOUGHT AN AIRSTREAM!!!!!!! It was not a long drawn out decision, we had never really thought about it before but suddenly it seemed like the BEST idea we had ever had! (Please excuse the iPhone photos cause I actually FORGOT to bring my camera with me hah!)
It’s actually a funny story, so let me tell it:
Saturday Afternoon:
Eric: Hey babe, I’m heading up to the metal shop to go get supplies to create that bathroom light we wanted to do
Tonie: Ok see ya soon babe!
Eric’s Text to Tonie: Babe, look at what I saw on the street hear the metal shop! (Inster picture of awesome, but OOLLLD Airstream)
Tonie’s Text Reply: That’s so cool!! We should go see it
An hour later- We arrive on the scene to be shown an airstream that is… well… old. Not updated and really not as good of a deal as we originally thought it might be
Saturday night we talked to E’s brother and his wife because we knew they would be a bit part of the possible remodel.
Late Saturday night – text, pinterest boards and craigslist ads blowing up each others phones!
On Monday afternoon we found a better ad for an airstream in Canada… So ….
Eric: Hey Bro, wanna go up to Canada with Tonie and I and see this airstream
Brother: Well if you guys buy it you need my truck right?
Eric: Uh, yes we do.
Brother: Ok well let’s go!
Tonie: How long is the drive?!
Tuesday:
Eric’s brother drove up, picked us up and we went straight up to the house to look at this thing. We were SO pleased with not only the condition but the people who were selling it were SO sweet to us! So we spent the day at their house, looking it over, talking about the possibilities and then finally singing over the title to us!
As we drove home:
Eric: What did we just do?
Tonie: WE BOUGHT AN AIRSTREAM!!!
So, the neat part about this one is that the previous owners had already done some of the hard stuff like gutting the front and the back, which is GREAT! Less work for us! So we are indeed “Airstream Dreamin’ ” and gathering ideas and starting on the projects! E’s brother will be doing the bulk of the maintenance and E and I will visit them in Moses Lake on free weekends work on it and get it to be the totally rad little getaway we want it to be!
So here are some photos of her right now in all her current glory (we still need a name for her) and then below are some fun ideas we are pinning! IF you have name ideas or find cool pin’s be sure to send them my way!!! It’s going to be a fun journey so stay tuned for some updates on it!
I wish I could afford one of these. Ugh so awesome for you two. Can’t wait to see what you do with it.
