Well, it’s been few days since I blogged, but there is GOOD REASON! If you didn’t see the big announcement on my Instagram, WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! and we are super super thrilled! But the reason I took a small break from blogging was not only due to the lack of internet hook up in my house (which is taking a WHOLE WEEK) or the fact that we are split between our old house trying to set up visiting potential renters and un packing our new house, OR oh ya know… just the craziness of buying a house as a whole… the REAL reason is because I simply WANTED TO.
Mostly, I wanted to soak in the joy of packing, unpacking, organizing, redecorating and slowly but surely getting my life back in order! So alas… I had finished unpacking the main parts of my house (mind you, not even TOUCHING my office as I knew that would make me want to work work work the days away) with my amazing family by my side… I sat that first night by myself in the living room regretting the decision E and I had made the day prior to NOT get a christmas tree due to the money being spent on one as well as the fact that because we will be traveling so much during the holidays we would not even have time to enjoy it. So, I had the brilliant idea to just try to “get crafty”… I mean I USED to be REALLY crafty… and do things from scratch and be all “inventive” and creative… but suddenly I was at a loss and didn’t know what to do… so I decided to pop out to Target, NOT to buy anything but to just hopefully get inspired!! Well… it worked! I ended up spending only 8$ on A TREE!! A WHITE TREE- can you spot it?! (which if you know me, you know a white christmas tree is my favorite!) and when E came home he was pleasantly surprised with my purchase and my decor that all came from random boxes in my house as well as a box of Christmas stuff I purchased LAST year on 80% off clearance that I had not opened yet! Don’t miss the “meet me under the mistle toe” print from my dear friend Lindsay Letters and of course one of my FAV Engagement photos done by the awesome Benj Haisch. 😉
So, here I am to introduce to you #thelodgeatbearcreek (and if you don’t do hash tag’s thats “The Lodge At Bear Creek”) in all its wintery glory! – and would you believe the holly and the branches ALL came right from my yard?! So, I hope you have been able to put on some Christmas music, sit back and take a few min off “work” and really enjoy this holiday season… that’s what I did the last couple days and will continue to do before my internet gets hooked up on Friday!
